    Mr. Lakshmi Chakarapani

    Director, Consumer Platforms, Verizon Connect

    Mr. Lakshmi Chakarapani serves as Director of Technology responsible for Consumer Platforms at Verizon Connect. Lakshmi currently leads Hum and Consumer OEM product platforms that serves millions of connected vehicles on the go. Prior to the current role, Lakshmi has been instrumental in building FiOS TV, an entertainment service powered by our 100% fiber-optic network, for Verizon Customers. Lakshmi’s range of expertise includes IoT, cloud computing, device management, big data, software architectures, telematics, video, voice, and new product development. During his 15 years of experience with Verizon, Lakshmi held roles of increasing responsibility in product development and engineering and launched several products in VOIP, video, advertising and Internet of Things (IoT) domain. Lakshmi has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Florida at Gainesville. He has published papers in international journals, conferences and has 15 patents granted or pending.

  • Pierre-Emmanuel Deliou

    Mr. Pierre-Emmanuel Deliou

    Global Director of Digital Technology & Program Management, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health (BIAH) – United States operations

    Mr. Pierre-Emmanuel Deliou is responsible for articulating and developing the technology strategy roadmap for BIAH in the field of wearables, big data, and internet of things for both pets and production animals. This includes establishing partnerships with key companies for the development of digital solutions. Throughout his career, Mr. Deliou has held positions of increasing responsibility and seniority in various areas including project management, strategic planning and mechanical engineering. He owns/co-owns five patents on key digital technologies for animal health. Mr. Deliou holds a Master's degree in industrial and mechanical engineering from Arts et Métiers ParisTech, a graduate engineering and research school located in Paris, France.

  • Mr. Jeff Evans

    Mr. Jeff Evans

    Co-Founder of CDAIT, and Chair, CDAIT Executive Advisory Board

    Mr. Jeff Evans is a Principal Research Engineer at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), Director of the Transformation of Things at the Georgia Tech Center for Advanced Communications Policy (CACP) and the treasurer of the National Spectrum Consortium. He is the former Director of the Information and Communications Laboratory (ICL) at GTRI, which conducts research in computer science; information technology; communication; networking; and socio-technical systems. Jeff has extensive research experience in the communications field, in particular in broadband wireless networks and emerging mobile communication services. He is one of the founders of the first multi-disciplinary unit, the Institute for People and Technology (IPaT) at Georgia Tech, which aims to integrate theoretical research, basic research and to conduct applied science about the emerging technologies that directly impact people: health care, education, humanitarian systems and media. He has helped build numerous international and industry partnerships, as well as multidisciplinary “living lab” test beds. Among those, he co-founded GTRI’s Foundations for the Future (F3) program, which helps to bring Georgia Tech’s expertise into the state’s K-12 classrooms. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

    Thierry Godart, Ph.D. is the General Manager of Business Development and Strategic Marketing in the Industrial Solutions Division of the Internet of Things Group within Intel Corporation. The vision of Industrial Solutions is to transform the industrial infrastructure to improve our world. The portfolio of Industrial Solutions includes microprocessors, embedded hardware, and IoT platforms for automation systems in Manufacturing, Energy, Logistics and Buildings. Thierry is working with the ecosystem of device makers, software vendors, system integrators as well as energy companies, industrial manufacturers, logistics suppliers and building managers to develop and deploy ubiquitous connected devices, IoT edge platforms and cloud architectures. Thierry has 25+ years of experience providing advanced solutions to the global industry. Prior to his tenure at Intel, Thierry held leadership positions at Schneider Electric, Siemens, Areva T&D, ABB and GE. Thierry holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Master’s degrees in Applied Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, all from Georgia Tech. He is a SUPELEC (Paris, France) Engineer. Thierry is married with two children and lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.

  • Doug Guthrie

    Mr. Douglas Guthrie

    Senior Vice President, Comcast Cable

    Mr. Douglas Guthrie serves as a Senior Vice President at Comcast Cable, leading go to market strategic investments into Smart Cities and Rural Broadband. In this role, he leads a team responsible for evaluating opportunities to determine market-level needs for investments and products that provide solutions in our communities and long-term value for shareholders. Doug has over 30 years of experience in the communications industry, holding a variety of senior management, operations and marketing positions with Comcast and its predecessor companies, including AT&T Broadband, MediaOne and Continental Cablevision, where he began his career in Massachusetts in 1985. His previous roles include serving as the Senior Vice President for the Houston Region, Senior Vice President for Comcast’s Western New England Region, and Vice President of Advanced Services for Comcast’s former Northern Division. Doug is very involved in many industry and community organizations. He actively supports Atlanta’s Special Olympics and personally mentors three individuals. He is also a strong supporter of industry groups such as Women in Cable Telecommunications and the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications. Currently, he serves as the executive champion for Comcast’s Employee Resource Group for Black Professionals. In Houston, Doug was a board advisor for the Texas Chapter of NAMIC in 2012. There, he was honored with the President’s Award for outstanding support to the growth of the organization. A native of Western Massachusetts, Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Bridgewater State University.

  • Russ Gyurek

    Mr. Russ Gyurek

    Director, IoT-CTO and Industries, Cisco

    Mr. Russell Gyurek is currently a Director, IoT-CTO and Industries at Cisco. He has over 25 years of networking related technology experience, the majority in leadership positions. Russ’ range of expertise includes; IoT/connectivity of things, analytics and big data, cloud, optical networking technologies, broadband architectures, and related technical policy, and emerging market development. He has held various leadership roles in creating strategy and direction in these areas. In Russ’ current role he is responsible for technology leadership, market development and partner due diligence & enablement related to IoT. The CTO group evaluates future trends, emerging standards, technologies, and architectures that drive and influence Cisco’s market portfolio relating to IoT. He also works closely with the vertical solutions organization- turning strategy into real-world IoT deployments, including Smart Cities. For the past year, he has been leading an industrywide effort focused on the security and scale-ability of “things”. This effort is now in productization and development with the various players in the IoT ecosystem. In addition, Russ is a value-of-the-infrastructure advisor to customers, helping to create new business models and use cases to leverage network data for cloud and real-time event processing. Russ engaged in numerous sponsored research work at various universities during his 20-year career at Cisco. In industry related work, he holds board seats on University of Washington IoT Board, and the NCSU ECE strategic advisory board. In these board roles, he has collaborated with multi-stakeholders to create new programs for IoT and data science/analysis. Russ has held board roles in the past on the FTTH Council and the OCF (Open Connectivity Foundation). He has given numerous keynotes at conferences and research workshops on IoT and related topics. Russ has played key roles in IEEE standards development and ratification including 802.3. Russ holds an appointed position on the FCC-TAC (Technical Advisory Council) where he has chaired Working Groups on the “sunset of the PSTN”, “network resiliency”, “IoT”, Next Generation Internet and “Next Generation Policy and Regulations”. He is currently the working group Chairman for the 5G/IoT FCC working group team. Russ has led and participated on numerous technical policy teams in the past 10 years. These include the state of California, West Virginia, and the country of Lebanon. Prior to Cisco, Russ held senior technical and leadership roles at BellSouth (AT&T), in the networking part of the business. Russ has a BSEE from Trine University and an MBA from UNC’s Cameron School of Business.

    Mr. Parth Joshi is CTO and Vice President of Engineering for the Lighting Division of Eaton. He is responsible for leading the Lighting Division’s engineering, technology, and connected lighting strategy development and execution for Eaton Lighting’s Connected Cities, Homes, and Buildings Teams. He works closely with other Eaton engineering teams around the globe to leverage and scale the connectivity for Eaton’s broad electrical and lighting portfolio, which is unmatched in the electrical industry. Mr. Joshi brings a wealth of experience in defining, developing and bringing to market software, hardware, professional services, and solutions for customers. Parth was recently the senior vice president, Engineering at Technicolor in their Connected Home Business Unit. During his 15 years of experience with Cisco Systems and Technicolor, Joshi held roles of increasing responsibility in technology, engineering and program management leadership with specialization in Hardware, Software, Mechanicals, Services and Data Analytics for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Mr. Joshi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech and MBA from Strayer University.

    Mr. Forrest Pace is the Major Accounts Business Development Manager at AIG, advising clients and industry partners on emerging risks and board-level exposures. Since joining AIG he has held positions as the Cyber Sales Leader for the South Zone and within Executive Liability as a senior professional liability underwriter and as the Regional Cyber Expert specializing in robotics and the Internet of Things. Forrest serves on the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce IoT Leadership Council and is Vice-Chair of the IoT Thought Leadership Working Group for the Georgia Institute of Technology Center for the Development and Application of Internet of Things Technologies (CDAIT). Forrest earned his B.B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Mississippi.

    Mr. Yasir Qureshi is Vice Pesident, Go to Market, IoT and Analytics Business Unit, Software AG. He previously led the IoT Platform and Digital Architecture Organization at Stanley Black and Decker where he was responsible for driving the digital product offerings across all of the Company’s Business Units. Prior to joining Stanley Black and Decker, Yasir held several senior management positions at Cisco ranging from leading technology sales teams to heading global sales and business development for Cisco’s Service Provider IoT Business. Over the course of his career, Yasir has managed businesses up to $1.0 Billion in revenue and led direct and indirect sales teams while successfully commercializing digital offers in a number of high tech companies. Yasir graduated with honors in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech, and earned his MBA from Georgia State University and Executive Education in Mergers and Acquisition from INSEAD.

Phil holds a bachelor's degree in Business from The University of Western Sydney.

    Tim Weidenbach serves as Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Operations for Landis+Gyr North America. In this role, Mr. Weidenbach is responsible for leading the teams that sell, deliver, implement and support the entire portfolio of solutions Landis+Gyr offers to the utility market. He is instrumental in establishing strategy and serving as a primary customer advocate within the organization. Prior to his current role, Mr. Weidenbach served as Senior Vice President Customer Delivery, Vice President Product Management and Director of Programs for Landis+Gyr. Mr. Weidenbach has worked in the electric utility industry for twenty five years with management roles in transmission and distribution organizations and now in the Smart Grid Infrastructure industry. His experience includes direct industry experience with fifteen years at the Southern Company in leadership positions. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
